First Lutheran

Music Ministry

Music

First Lutheran Church has a vibrant music program with numerous opportunities for sharing your musical gifts. Desire and commitment are more important than special training or expertise. We have choir opportunities for people of all ages, talent and time-commitments.

Our Music Ministry program offers a wonderful opportunity to showcase the musical talents of our congregation beyond singing. Our youth and adults who play musical instruments (professionally or for fun) are invited to bring their talents into our services.

Choirs

Seraphim Choir

Open to all singers. Seraphim Choir sings everything from liturgical music of the Medieval Church to modern anthem repertoire and service music with a focus on the values of the Lutheran tradition. This choir sings nearly every Sunday of the program year (September-May) while rotating their participation throughout the services, as well as Christmas Eve and during Holy Week.

Handbells

Jubilate Handbell Choir

Our three-octave bell choir rings in worship several Sundays a month, rotating their participation among the three services, and also plays Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve. Repertoire emphasis is on liturgical bell-ringing and hymn-based settings. Past ringing experience is not necessary, however the ability to count rhythms and read music is important. Jubilate plays most Sundays of the program year (September-May) while rotating their participation throughout the services.
