Statement of Purpose
The Property Committee manages the real property of the church, including the church building and grounds as well as the two parsonages.
Activities
The committee is responsible for providing all utilities to the church and parsonages. This involves selection of the company to furnish natural gas and electricity. Invoices for the utilities are reviewed and approved by the committee.
Maintenance is divided into routine and special items:
- Routine maintenance includes items that occur on a regular or annual basis such as grass cutting, leaf removal, and snow and ice removal. Also included are operation of the heating and cooling systems, the fire monitoring system, and the fire suppression system. Routine maintenance also consists of making or arranging for plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
- Special maintenance consists of various projects required to keep the church property in good condition. Included are such items as replacement of the carpets, doors, floors, and other items which gradually wear out.
Nature of Group Membership
Committee members have interests in landscaping, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and other areas related to the maintenance and improvement of the church.
